STORY TIME

UPDATES

 November 18, 2015

The sun came out and made for a beautiful drive to the Salmon Arm Regional Library this morning. It was so wonderful to see so many children, a Grandma , Mom's and a Dad gathered for Story Time. It was great fun meeting you and being able to share with you all, my new book . Thank you for sharing your time with me . See you in the spring and I hope to hear what your seeds are doing when we meet again.

Arie tells stories with such zest I strongly suggest you come visit during story time. You will not be disappointed , your children will enjoy themselves without a doubt.

Thank you to the Chase Library!

Today my Story Time went on a different path.
I was joined at the table by a wonderful young lady about the age of eight. She was quick to have a book in her hands and before you knew it she was telling the story to the others who had come and sat with us. Her reading skills were far beyond what mine where at that age. It was so refreshing to watch her engage with everyone.
After the reading I stopped by Pebbles Place for a beverage before I headed home. There I had the pleasure of meeting two young men, Raphael and Michael. It was wonderful hearing that even they had read the book at twelve years of age and were able to learn something from it. Thank you I had a most wonderful afternoon!

Hello, FROM  HAITI

The program ran a little different this year, first of all since there was no rain and the land was too dried, most of the families in the area did not take their seeds. They said that they did not want to feel bad in case they lost the crops. So, it was a great opportunity to work more with the school children instead. They learned to sow seeds, making gardens where they carried water from the river to water the plants.  When the plants came to maturity, Isaac shared them with the school students to bring home. The rest of the seeds went to a new group of 70 people in a new area of Marbial. That area has better soil and it went really well there. It seemed to be better to plant their vegetables even after the planting season. This is their first try but they have been trained well how to make their vegetables garden. This year also, we have Isaac assisted to the other technician to do training.  I got some pictures yesterday from that community nursery and on Wednesday , Isaac will go up there to distribute the plants to the group.

Thank you for your support,
